The time for hellish revelation is upon us! Hellfest Open Air, the biggest and most successful metal festival in France, has revealed its entire lineup for 2020 and like always, its beyond anything we would ever dream of. And considering it will be the festival’s 15th Anniversary, it couldn’t be any other way. Allow us to give you a quick rundown of some of the 100+ bands that will take part of the celebration.
This year, the Main Stages will be headlined by Deftones, Faith No More, System of a Down, Volbeat, Deep Purple and Judas Priest – who will be celebrating 50 heavy metal years of existence -, but the surprises don’t stop there. Opeth (on the photo above), Leprous, The Offspring, Korn, Infectious Grooves, Down – celebrating 25 years of NOLA -, Doro and Maximum The Hormone are a few others that will enchant and explode the Main Stages. Over at the Altar and Temple stages, the attention will go to headliners Obituary, Mayhem, Sepultura, Wardruna, Devin Townsend, Meshuggah and Watain, but the presence of bands such as Death DTA, At The Gates, Primordial, The Great Old Ones, Regarde Les Hommes Tomber, Einherjer, Borknagar, Sacred Reich, Dying Fetus and Gaahls Wyrd, among many others, will surely whet the appetite of more than a few. Last but by no means least, the Valley and Warzone stages will be headlined by Electric Wizard, Body Count, Social Distortion, Envy, Killing Joke and Walls of Jericho, and will also be graced by the presence of bands such as Baroness, OM, Witchcraft, Suicidal Tendencies, Jesus Piece, Mono & The Jo Quail Quartet, John Garcia, The Toy Dolls, Agnostic Front, Anti-Flag, Perturbator, High On Fire, Pelican and much, much more. There are still a couple of names left to be announced but you can already hop on over the festival’s website and gush over the entirety of the lineup yourself.
