Brutal Assault 25: Devin Townsend, Blood Incantation, Uada and more added to the lineup

December is upon us and the jolly spirit of Christmas is starting to fill our hearts and minds with thoughts of good food and even greater presents. Keeping up with that very sentiment, Brutal Assault has unveiled twelve more bands that will be a part of the festival’s 25th Anniversary bash – twelve great bands for twelve heartwarming days of Christmas.

At the top of the dessert chain we have the inimitable and chameleonic Devin Townsend (on the photo above), who just recently embarked on a new musical venture with an all-new live lineup. Devin will be presenting his brand-new record, Empath, released this year via InsideOut Music. Also at the forefront are the black metal legends Mayhem, who will also be presenting their latest record, Daemon, as well as legendary thrash metallers Sacred Reich, who are returning to Fortress Josefov for a whole new dosage of high-octane thrash metal. On the metalcore side of things, we have the confirmations of North American heavyweights As I Lay Dying, the Canadian straight edge group The Agonist and North American groove masters Butcher Babies. The death metal fanatics will have plenty to rejoice in as well, as Benighted, Excrementory Grindfuckers, Blood Incantation and Bloodbath have also been confirmed. This sixth announcement is completed with the additions of progressive metal group Soen and the melodic black metallers Uada. Plenty more bands are still to be confirmed, so watch this space for further announcements.

Brutal Assault 25 takes place at Fortress Josefov, in Jaroměř, on August 5th-8th, 2020. Four-day tickets are available for 2450 Kč (approximately 95 euros) and can be purchased online via the festival’s eshop, here.
