Brutal Assault 25: Obituary, Suffocation, Paradise Lost and more added to the lineup
Here comes a little Christmas present from Brutal Assault! In the spirit of the season, the best and biggest underground metal festival of Czech Republic has unveiled ten more names for its 25th Anniversary edition and they are quite the bunch of doozy acts. First off, we have Obituary (on the photo above), one of the leading names in North American death metal, who will bring their chainsaw-like riffs and gravely voices to Fortress Josefov, present in their latest self-titled record. Also from North America come the mighty kings of slam Suffocation, who not only will be showcasing their strong discography but will also be accompanied by original vocalist Frank Mullen, in what will be his final appearance ever in Czech Republic. Still from American soil will come the legendary hardcore outfit Terror and the groove metal masters Exhorder. Elsewhere in the world, the French Alcest will fill the BA stage with their dreamy shoegaze, the British Paradise Lost and Strigoi will feed everyone their much needed dosages of gothic doom and death crust, respectively, and the German Nailed to Obscurity will deliver the best in today’s melodic doom/death metal. Last but by no means least, we have the Canadian electro-industrial group Front Line Assembly and the Japanese experimental noise rockers Melt-Banana. More names will be confirmed soon, so keep your eyes peeled for further announcements.
Brutal Assault 25 takes place at Fortress Josefov, in Jaroměř, on August 5th-8th, 2020. Four-day tickets are available for 2450 Kč (approximately 95 euros) and can be purchased online via the festival’s eshop, here.
