Mono announce Spring 2021 European tour with A.A. Williams, return to Portugal scheduled for March

Blurring the lines between post-rock and neoclassical music, the legendary Japanese quartet Mono seeks, in their own words, to “communicate the incommunicable”. Seamlessly shifting through chiming melodies, grandiose orchestrations, thundering percussion and menacing walls of volume, Mono’s music captures and reflects every nuance of our emotions – from sadness to joy, from peace to anger –, with each composition working as a deep introspective journey for the listener. After an array of sold out shows in the recent past, Mono will return to Portugal for two shows presenting their latest record, Nowhere Now Here, which was released on January 25th, 2019 via Pelagic Records. Before Mono take the stage, A.A. Williams will show why Forever Blue is one of the most acclaimed debuts of recent times, the culmination of her work so far. With influences ranging from post-rock to dark folk, while also making reference to names like PJ Harvey and Emma Ruth Rundle, the London artist’s haunting music will sound for the first time live in concert in Portugal on this occasion. Both Mono and A.A. Williams have recently released a collaboration EP, entitled Exit in Darkness, so maybe we will get to see both acts together on stage as well. The concerts will take place at the Hard Club, in Porto, on the night of March 29, and at Lisboa Ao Vivo, in Lisbon, on March 30 – tickets for both shows will be available soon.
