Electric Wizard, Weedeater and WITCH among the first names confirmed for SonicBlast Fest 2022

Surprise, surprise! Just a few days after announcing its rescheduled dates for next year, SonicBlast Fest has just unveiled the first names for its 10th Anniversary – and it’s quite the long, eye-popping and brain-melting list. At the very top of that list are the UK’s mighty stonerheads Electric Wizard – returning to Portugal after four years to once again present their latest release, Wizard Bloody Wizard -, the North American legendary marijuana-lovers and stoner metal purveyors Weedeater (on the photo above), the mythical zamrock group WITCH – also known as We Intend To Cause Havoc -, and the infamous doom metal, Bobby Liebling-led Pentagram. 

Elsewhere on the lineup but by no means less important than the four giants above, SonicBlast Fest will welcome the likes of Pigs x7 and Green Lung in reverence of the doom metal genre. 1000mods, The Machine, Psychlona, Samavayo and We Hunt Buffalo will take care of the stoner rock melodies, while Meatbodies, Frankie and the Witch Fingers and Slift showcase the best there is in well-crafted psychedelic garage rock. Bala, Night Beats, The Devil and the Almighty Blues, Mythic Sunship, Tia Carrera, Toxic Shock, The Goners, Rosy Finch and 24/7 Diva Heaven complete an impressive announcement, with a few more bands left to be announced – all in due time.

SonicBlast Fest 2022 takes place at the Praia da Duna do Caldeirão, in Âncora, from August 11th-13th. Three-day tickets are available for 65 euros until May 31st, 2022 – after that date, they will increase to 75 euros -, and can be purchased online via Bilheteira Online.
