Mono, Marissa Nadler, Myrkur and more confirmed for Roadburn 2019
While its tickets keep selling like hot cakes – we mean it, half of them have already flown –, the annual Roadburn Festival keeps adding exctiting names to its 2019 line-up. On this announcement, we have a few more names for Tomas Lindberg’s The Burning Darkness curated event, a couple of very special performances and more. Shall we go exploring?
Let’s start with the aforementioned Tomas Lindberg’s The Burning Darkness curated event. Already including special performances by At The Gates, Anna von Hausswolff and Henrik Palm, Tomas and Roadburn now announce the presence of the Japanese post-rock four piece Mono, who will be joined by the Jo Quail Quartet to perform their iconic album Hymn To The Immortal Wind, in a celebration of the latter’s 10th anniversary and the band’s 20th anniversary. Also confirmed for The Burning Darkness are three very distinct Swedish acts – the sludgers Agrimonia, featuring members of At The Gates and Miasmal, the dynamic prog outfit Gösta Berlings Saga and the intense Orchestra of Constant Distress, featuring members of The Skull Defekts and Brainbombs.
Outside of the curated circle, we have Myrkur in a special set called Folkesange, in which she will perform traditional Nordic folk songs as well as her own compositions alongside Heilung’s Christopher Juul and Jo Quail. Marissa Nadler will also be performing in Roadburn, showcasing her latest and most beautiful record yet, For My Crimes. Also confirmed are Black Bombaim & Peter Brötzmann, Bliss Signal, Bossk – performing Audio Noir in full -, Crypt Trip, Deaf Kids, Petbrick – featuring Igorr Cavalera, who will also perform with Deaf Kids in a special Deaf Kids x Petbrick show -, Malokarpatan, Morne, Mythic Sunship, Rakta, Stuck In Motion, The End and Territoire, performing Alix in full. Last but not least, Holy Roar Records will ally themselves with Roadburn for a special showcase featuring five of the label’s brightest stars – Svalbard, Pijn, Conjurer, Secret Cutter and A.A.Williams.
Roadburn 2019 takes place at 013, in Tilburg, on April 11th-14th. Four-day and three-day tickets will be available for 208,50 and 185,50 euros, respectively. Daily tickets for Thursday, Friday and Saturday will be 66,50 euros each and daily tickets for Sunday will be 59,50 euros. All are available to purchase online via Ticketmaster.
