Opeth, Lord Dying and Imperial Triumphant among the first names announced for Damnation Festival 2019
It’s that time of the year again, ladies and gentleman! The first names for the 2019 edition of Damnation Festival, the best indoor metal festival in the UK, are in and they are, shall we say, pretty fucking cool. At the top of this nine-name list, we have the Swedish prog machines Opeth (in the photo above), who will be the headliners for the year and are currently preparing the follow-up to 2016s Sorceress. So we might just get to hear some fresh new material this coming November. Also confirmed are the French post-hardcore outfit Birds in Row, the Portland, Oregon sludgers Lord Dying, the Finnish prog rockers Wheel and New York’s own avant-garde metal trio Imperial Triumphant, as well as a first contingent of incredible UK artists and bands in the form of cellist Jo Quail, doomsters Alunah, atmospheric black metallers Dawn Ray’d and technical death metallers Godeater. These are just the first names announced, with many more are still left to be confirmed, so keep your eyes peeled and your wallets ready: the festival is looking to sell out before Summer hits our window blinds!
Damnation Festival 2019 takes place in Leeds University, on November 2nd. Tickets are available for 49 pounds and can be purchased online, here.
