Catacombe announce ‘Scintilla’ release shows in Porto and Lisbon

For those that journey through the more intricate and experimental facets of instrumental post-rock, the name Catacombe is a familiar one. Born in 2007, in Vale de Cambra – a town that soon became recognized by its diverse instrumental bands and projects -, by the immensely capable hands of one Pedro Sobast, Catacombe is a band that has always had a knack for exploring a wide variety of sonorities. Their two full-lengths, Kinetic and Quidam, and EP Memoirs, are proof enough of this sentiment. For a while now, the band had been keeping a relatively low profile and no one really knew what they were up too. All is revealed now.

Entitled Scintilla, this new record is Catacombe’s third record butin some ways, could very well be their first, as it appears as a result of the band’s individual and collective growth as artists and human beings over these past five years. Recorded and produced by Daniel Valente, in the studios of Caos Armado and CCMP, Scintilla transports us to that primordial moment where mankind first discovered fire so that, millions of years later, one band would be able to find a new course, or maturity. This new album will be released on June 7th and to celebrate such an occasion, Catacombe have announced two very special release shows in Portugal. Dates are as follow:

Jun. 14 – Porto, PT – Understage (Teatro Rivoli)
Jun. 15 – Lisbon, PT – Sabotage Club

Tickets for the show in Porto are available for 5 euros and can already be purchased via Bilheteira Online. We await information regarding tickets for the Lisbon show, but it should be announced very soon. Below you can listen to Catacombe’s previous record, Quidam.
