Next year: Explosions in the Sky return to Europe to celebrate their 20th Anniversary

Explosions in the Sky are a name that, by now, most will recognize at first glance. Formed in 1999, the band garnered popularity within the post-rock scene over the years thanks to their inimitable approach to the genre – elaborate and complex melodies that form narrative-driven instrumentals coupled wih enthusiastic and incredibly moving live shows became the perfect recipe that defined the band’s style. Over these past 20 years, the Texan quartet released seven amazing studio albums and created the soundtracks to four different movie projects – including Peter Berg’s Lone Survivor and David Gordon Green’s Manglehorn -, an impressive catalog that is almost entirely instrumental. 

This year will see the band celebrate their 20th Anniversary with a North American tour that will start in September, but a visit to Europe is now also confirmed. It will be divided into two treks – one in February, which will see the band perform in the Iberian Peninsula and the UK, among other countries, and another in April/May, which will take the band into Central Europe.
