This month: SWR makes its return with the pandemic-ready FEAST edition

It’s been two whole years since we last had the pleasure of experiencing the Christmas for the Metalhead. For obvious reasons everyone is pretty tired of knowing, most shows all over the world has to be either postponed or cancelled altogether during these past two years, but this year it’s going to be different. This year, we have our revenge, we have our SWR. But this is not just any SWR, as precautions still need to be taken, as the pandemic situation is not fully solved just yet. With that in mind, the fine folks of SWR postponed their annual Metalfest edition to next year, putting in its place a shorter and pandemic-ready edition called SWR FEAST.

And what a feast it will be. With a lineup consisting of sixteen bands divided into two days, SWR FEAST is sure to whet the voracious appetite of even the most fanatical of metalheads. On the first day of the feast, we have the Norwegian thrashing blasphemers Deathhammer, the Swedish heavy doomsters Nekromant, the Polish hooded black metal trio Mgła, the Californian death metal masters Skeletal Remains and the Portuguese misanthropic grinders Besta, as well as the trio of GrievanceBoulder and Speedemon, who will take part on this year’s Wacken Metal Battle qualifiers. On the second day of the feast, the festival grounds will receive the North American death metal legends Autopsy, the Swedish party goregrinders Birdflesh, the German mythological death/thrash outfit Sijjin and the Portuguese black metal icons Filii Nigrantium Infernalium, as well as their fellow Portuguese countrymen in Simbiose, Equaleft, Midnight Priest and Alcoholocaust. Below this article you can find the running order for the festival, as well as our curated playlist to get your blood flowing until the day of the FEAST. See you there.

SWR FEAST takes place at the A.D.B. Sport Facilities, in Barroselas, on April 29th-30th. Daily and two-day tickets are still available for 30 and 50 euros, respectively, and can be purchased online via the festival’s store, here.
