Next week: The Ocean bring paleontology to life in Lisbon

Live shows have returned in full force and things are only going to heat up from here as we are closing in on the festival season. But before the enjoyment of the Summer metal vibes under the scorching sun can be had, we will have the pleasure of seeing and feeling the history of Nature come alive in a very special night. We are talking, of course, about the return to Portugal by the Berlin-based progressive and post metal metal collective The Ocean and their incredibly wonderous, paleontology-based discography. Presenting their latest release, Phanerozoic II: Mesozoic / Cenozoic, the collective will present themselves in a unique quintet, and perhaps instrumental format, as their vocalist Loïc Rossetti is recovering from having both his legs crushed in an accident which occured during a tour earlier this year. Let not this minor detail fool you, however, as the remainder of the band is as passionate and electrifying as ever, and you will be able to attest to that sentiment next week, when they finally step on the stage of RCA Club, in Lisbon – more precisely, on May 31st. Joining the band on this most auspicious of nights will be Swedish experimental post-rock group pg.lost and the Belgian psychedelic post-metal collective Psychonaut, each also presenting their latest records, Oscillate and Unfold the God Man, respectively. Tickets for the show are still available for 25 euros and can be purchased online via Ticketline. Make sure not to miss this spectacular night of progressive music; you won’t regret it!
