SonicBlast 2023: The Black Angels, Thurston Moore, Bombino and more added to the lineup

We got some very juicy news to spice up your desire for some Summertime madness! SonicBlast has just confirmed sixteen more names that will be joining the likes of OFF!, Acid King, Eyehategod, Kadavar and A Place To Bury Strangers, just to name a few, as part of this year’s lineup, and we guarantee a multitude of jaw drops as you read through them all. Starting with the immediate eye-catchers, we have The Black Angels, returning to Portugal a few months after their last stop to once again promote their latest record, Wilderness of Mirrors, as well as the much welcomed return of Thurston Moore (on the photo above), who is currently preparing a new record and will be joined on stage by bassist Debbie Googe (My Bloody Valentine), guitarist James Sedwards (Guapo, Chrome Hoof) and virtuoso drummer Jem Doulton. Also confirmed are BombinoImarhan and Etran De L’Aïr, all fortifying the Tuareg presence at this year’s edition of SonicBlast, while Spy and Scowl bring forth the fury and potency of hardcore punk. Elsewhere on the lineup, and by no means less important, are Crippled Black Phoenix and Dozer, who will both be presenting their latest records, Banefyre and Drifting in the Endless Void, respectively, for the first time in Portugal, as well as HällasSasquatchLove GangMythic SunshipDanavaMirror Queen and Scatterbrainiac – the latter three being a part of the festival’s warmup party that will take place on August 9th. More names will be announced soon, so keep your eyes peeled for further announcements.

SonicBlast 2023 takes place at the Praia da Duna do Caldeirão, in Âncora, from August 10th-12th. Three-day tickets are available for 85 euros until May 31st, 2023 – after that date, they will increase to 95 euros -, and can be purchased online via Bilheteira Online.
