Beyond The Gates announces first bands for its 2024 edition

Beyond the Gates has just announced the first batch of bands for the 2024 edition and we are beyond excited. Norway’s leading extreme metal festival once again promises to deliver a lineup that has never been experienced before and all things considered, they are delivering well on that promise. At the forefront of the festival’s first announcement are the Polish blackened death metal juggernauts Behemoth and Norway’s own black metal masters Satyricon – the former haven’t played in Bergen since 2012 and will be presenting their latest record, Opvs Contra Natvram, while the latter are readying the release of an as-of-yet unnamed new record and preparing themselves to return to the live scene for the first time in five years.

Also confirmed are the British black metal founders Venom and the Swedish occult black metal innovators Watain (on the photo above), as well as Trelldom, featuring the iconic singer Gaahl, who will do their first live appearance ever since their formation in the early 90s. Furthermore, Vreid will be celebrating 30 years of Sognametal with a very special performance, while Norwegian black metallers Djevel and black metal experimentalists Dødheimsgard will perform exclusive sets. Rounding off the first announcement, we have the Czech epic black metal outfit Cult of Fire, the Swiss cosmic black metal purveyors Darkspace and the Polish black metal group Mānbryne. More names will be announced soon, so keep your eyes peeled for further announcements.

Beyond The Gates 2024 takes place in Bergen, Norway, from July 31st to August 3rd. Full-festival tickets are available for 3175 NOK and can be purchased online here.
