SonicBlast 2024: High On Fire, Gaye Su Akyol and Skemer among the newest lineup additions

Here are some delicious and ecstatic news to start the day off in the best way possible: SonicBlast has just confirmed thirteen new names for the lineup of this year’s addition, who are joining previously announced acts such as Viagra Boys, Graveyard, Brant Bjork Trio, Poisön Ruin and Truckfighters, among others. At the forefront of the announcement, we have the mighty North American stoners High On Fire, a group led by the legendary Matt Pike of Sleep fame, who are returning to Portugal after ten years to present their upcoming record, Cometh the Storm. Also at the forefront is the fantastic confirmation of Gaye Su Akyol, the singer-songwriter, painter and anthropologist that plays anatolian rock, and will be presenting her latest record, Anadolu Ejderi, as well as the French Slift, who create a blend of psych rock, acid rock and space rock to spectacular results, which we will be able to attest once they step on stage and present their brand-new record, Ilion. 

Further down the announcement, we find the North American psychedelic garage rock specialists Night Beats, the German masters of instrumental psych rock Colour Haze, The Australian punk rockers C.o.f.f.i.n and the Belgian duo Skemer, formed by model Kim Peers and Amenra’s Mathieu Vandekerckhove of Amenra fame, who combine dark and minimalist wave with brutality and sensuality. Last, but by no means least, we also have the confirmations of The Obsessed, jjuujjuu, Margarita Witch Cult, High Reeper, Cobrafuma, Silvershark and Saint Karloff. More names will be unveiled soon, so keep your eyes peeled for further announcements.

SonicBlast 2024 takes place at the Praia da Duna do Caldeirão, in Âncora, from August 8th-10th. Three-day tickets are available for 90 euros until May 31st, after which they will be available for 100 euros. They can be purchased online via Bilheteira Online.
