Founded in 2015, Verbian are a Porto-based group that employs elements from various musical styles such as post-metal, experimental and electronic music, blending them all into a cohesive, but sometimes abrasive, sound. Early on, the trio understood that the thriving of heavy music depends on its capacity to expand and evolve, and so, Verbian made it their mission to delve deep into profound emotions and letting artistic expression take their sound to wherever they may dare. As we’ve discussed previously, their brand-new record, CASARDER, is a raging, mesmerizing and multilayered sonic experience, and on a live setting, it attains a whole new level of potency.
Showcasing the record for the first time at IODO, in Porto, Verbian were welcomed by a packed house. Under a perfectly intimate atmosphere, the group demonstrated why they are one of the most impressive bands in the current underground music scene, with their unique sound. From the intense, galloping riffs to the psychedelic and cosmic-sounding synths, as well as the ritualistic and precise drumming, Verbian provided a special journey through sound, which also included a nice injection of trumpet, saxophone and trombone melodies, brought by Pedro Sequeira, Igor Cavaz and Rodrigo Santos, respectively. An amazing night through and through that demands to be experienced multiple times. Do not miss any upcoming shows by Verbian that might happen in a location near you – you won’t be disappointed.
