XXXapada na Tromba is known as the freak and grind festival of Portugal, but they don’t just dabble on the deadly and savage art of grindcore. In fact, they have another project on the side that brings the best of the best from the darkest regions of extreme metal. Entitled Morbid Sessions, these are sideshows, so to speak, organised by the same folks behind the festival, as well as Stone The Crow Productions, and that usually include names that, in one way or another, wouldn’t fit the main festival. The first chapter featured performances by Marthyrium, Gaerea, Vehement, Invoke and Cavemaster, and the second one promises to be even grander.
Once again taking place in Lisbon, this second chapter of the Morbid Sessions will be headlined by the British progressive black/death metallers Akercocke (on the photo above), who return to Portugal to once again present their come back record, Renaissance in Extremis. Also confirmed is Nader Sadek, the death metal project created by the eponymous Egyptian artist, as well as Necronautical, Aklash and Congruity. Prepare for a night filled with darkness and blasphemous brilliance.
XXXapada Morbid Sessions – Chapter 2 takes place at RCA Club, in Lisbon, on March 7th. Tickets will be 22 euros and will be made available soon.
