Amplifest unveils complete lineup for 2019

The wait is finally over! The complete lineup for this year’s return of the much-lauded Amplifest has arrived and it looks incredible. Being much more than a festival, Amplifest is the event that stands as the perfect epitome of Amplificasom’s philosophy as a promoter. It is an experience that needs to be seen and lived to be fully understood, an unique event that gathers some of the most interesting bands and artists from around the world for a weekend that isn’t replicated anywhere else. There are no big names – in Amplifest, every act is regarded as an headliner, which shows the festival’s commitment to accommodate everyone the best way they can. 

But that’s what we are all here for, isn’t it? Every edition, the lineup of Amplifest is a fantastic mixture of extraordinary acts, each more singular than the next, and this year is no different. Repeaters on the sacred grounds of Amplifest are the Californian post-black metallers Deafheaven and Belgian post-sludge collective Amenra, who are returning to the festival after their brilliant performances in 2013 and 2015, respectively. JK Flesh can also be considered as somewhat of a return to the festival – he had previously performed with both Godflesh and Jesu in 2011 and now returns in a more freeform solo mode. Coming with Deafheaven, as per the announcement of their tour, are Touché Amoré and Portrayal of Guilt, two of the most interesting post-hardcore bands that are around today and on that front we can include the experimental noise rock of Daughters (on the photo above). For the enthusiasts of electronic music – and its many abrasive shapes -, Author & Punisher will be delivering some industrial and mechanical pain, as well as Bliss Signal, the new project by Altar of Plagues and WIFE main man, James Kelly. On the more drone side of things, we have the power couple Nadja, and Pelican will finally come down to Porto to distill some much-needed post-metal goodness. Last but not least, Amplifest will have the honour of receiving the likes of Birds In Row, Candura, Emma Ruth Rundle – performing a solo show -, Gaerea, Ingrina, Inter Arma and Some Became Hollow Tubes. Pure brilliance and that’s not all – there will also be exhibitions, Amplitalks and a film selection. All of it will be revealed soon, but for now, revel in the confirmed musical acts and grab your ticket for the bash.
