As Christmas comes fast approaching, the masterminds behind SonicBlast have graced us with a joyful gift of their own – the first names that will be performing at the festival’s 13th edition. At the forefront of the announcement are the absolute stoner rock giants Fu Manchu, who are returning to Portugal after fifteen years, as well as the Belgian spiritual sludge/doom collective Amenra and the legendary hardcore punk quartet Circle Jerks (on the photo above). Also confirmed are the Californian psych rockers Earthless, who will be celebrating the 20th Anniversary of their debut record, Sonic Prayer, by playing it in full, the German instrumental psych rockers My Sleeping Karma, the German progressive stoner rock outfit Gnome and the Canadian slutch bastards Dopethrone as well as Daevar, Dame Area, Emma Ruth Rundle, Jjuujjuu, Patriarchy, Slomosa and Spoon Benders. More names will be unveiled soon, so keep your eyes peeled for further announcements.
SonicBlast 2024 takes place at the Praia da Duna do Caldeirão, in Âncora, from August 7th-9th, with a warm-up party on August 6th (for ticket holders only). Three-day tickets are available for 100 euros and can be purchased online via Bilheteira Online.
