Attitude, distortion, and resistance. Formed in 2022 in Porto, Ideal Victim emerged as a disruptive force in the underground punk scene, blending the raw intensity of hardcore with the rebellious energy of rockabilly and surf rock. The quartet consists of Pedro Marques on guitar, Alex Vieira on bass, Bruno Esteves on drums, and Mariana Moreira on vocals, whose intense delivery and openly anti-patriarchal stance amplify the band’s aggressive and urgent sound, as can be heard in their upcoming offering, Rage Letters. The record’s first single, “Bubbles”, showcases and renews the impact that the collective has had in the Portuguese underground scene, making the resistance and fury of a punk that continues to challenge norms and claim its space loud.
