Meshuggah, Hatebreed and more confirmed for the first edition of South of Heaven Festival

It’s always exciting to see a new festival rise, especially one that gives attention not only to colossal names in the underground scene, but also to invigorating new acts that keep emerging in the local scenes. Born in the wonderful city of Maastricht and honouring in its name the legendary Slayer record, South of Heaven Festival is one such festival that promises an intimate and authentic atmosphere, coupled with a relatively accessible bang for your buck. With its first announcement finally unleashed, South of Heaven is already showcasing an impressive lineup, currently headed by Sweden’s knövelmetal juggernauts Meshuggah (on the photo above), and the North American masters of beatdown hardcore Hatebreed. Also confirmed so far are the North American thrash metal legends Sacred Reich, the Dutch djent afficionados Textures and the Swedish crust punk outfit Wolfbrigade, as well as MidnightGutalaxLegion of the DamnedSevere TortureFrom The Crypt and Ripsaw. More names will be unveiled soon, so keep your eyes peeled for further announcements. And if you are in for a brand-new festival with a primary focus on music, an excellent atmosphere and haute cuisine, then make sure not to miss this one.
