I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: Portugal will always have a special place in its heart reserved for Angel Olsen. The North American composer has been on an incredible rise in popularity that doesn’t seem to be diminishing any time soon and her latest record, All Mirrors, arrived just to reconfirm that assumption, with its peaceful, albeit melancholic songs about finding new love and trusting change. Portugal has received her many times before – she has performed both solo and in festivals such as NOS Primavera Sound – and next week she is coming back for three shows, all of them already sold out. An impressive feat, but one that Angel Olsen is not unfamiliarized with, as every time she performs in the country that loves her so, the venues usually sell out fast. These three shows will be in promotion to her aforementioned latest record and will happen in an unusual format, as the composer will be accompanied onstage by seven other musicians. Opening for Angel Olsen on these three nights will be Hand Habits, the musical project of New York composer Meg Duffy, who will be presenting their latest record, placeholder. I’m sure you all already have your tickets but allow me to remind you of the three dates below.
