Next week: Inferno das Febras brings infernal chaos to Lousada

It is almost time for Inferno das Febras to begin once again. At the end of next week, the infernal monk of the underground will welcome all for a infernal party unlike any other you have ever seen. The theme for this year is the infernal monk’s nightmarish upbringing in the darkest corners of the underworld, and to help him bring those visions to life in all their vivid glory, the entity has invited quite a few brilliant acts that will spread chaos and dissonance throughout the festival’s two days – each divided into two parts, with a break in the middle for some delicious pork steaks that give the festival its wonderful name.

On the first day of the festivities, a contingent of Portuguese bands will showcase their fury, demonstrating the best there is in the country’s underground music scene. From the Pink Floydian, psych rock vibes of Jesus The Snake and the crushing crossover thrash of Yaatana, to Caos Ritual‘s doom/sludge metal and Idle Hand‘s pulverizing doom metal, you will find out how true that statement is. After the intermission, the gigs will resume with the definite debut of the Belgian desert doom collective Wyatt E., who will be presenting their brand-new record, Zamāru Ultu Qereb Ziqquratu Part 1, followed by the thrashing madness of Pitch Black. Afterwards, it will be time for the post-punk and noise rock fusion of UK’s own Heavy Lungs, and the night will end with the return to Portugal by the Danish blackened hardcore punk outfit Hexis, and the Portuguese crossover thrash quartet Crab Monsters.

On the second day, the rituals will begin with another contingent of Portuguese bands, including the post-metal outfit Verbian, the rawcore quartet Bad!, the psychedelic punk rockers Ideal Victim, and the hardcore punk rockers Fear The Lord. After another intermission featuring the culinary delight that are pork steaks (and maybe some alcohol in the mix), the Portuguese experimental psych rock group Black Bombaim will resume the fun times, followed by another two magnificent debuts in Portugal. On the one hand, we have the street punk of The Chisel, who will be presenting their latest record, What a Fucking Nightmare. On the other, we have the Swiss hardcore noise rockers Coilguns, presenting their latest release, Odd Love. The end of the night will be a wet dream for those that love to mosh and crowdsurf, as the UK death/thrash metal legends Cancer and the Portuguese thrashing punksters promise to finish things off in the highest note possible. Both nights will also feature a DJ set – José Magalhães on the first day, and Krunxx on the second -, for anyone that still has some gas in the tank to enjoy a few more hard-hitting tunes. See you there!

Inferno das Febras 2025 takes place at Parque de Lazer de Casais, in Lousada, on August 39th-30th. Daily and two-day tickets are still available for 12 and 18 euros, respectively. Both can be purchased via Bilheteira Online, or at the festival.
