Happy New Year, y’all! We hope you all had a great time celebrating the coming of 2020, because SWR Barroselas Metalfest just brought us even more reasons to celebrate this year in full. To the formerly announced Autopsy, Mgła, Morbid Saint, Gorod and Birdflesh, among others, now join fifteen more bands that complete the SWR Mainstages’ lineup. At the forefront we have the unstoppable Canadian force known as Revenge, who will finally be bringing their nihilistc black/death metal to Portugal, as well as the legendary death grinders Terrorizer (on the photo above), led by former Morbid Angel drummer Pete “Commando” Sandoval and presenting their latest record, Caustic Attack, and Canada’s iconic heavy metal trio Anvil, who will be unleashing their new record, Legal at Last, this coming February. Also confirmed are Diocletian, Sargeist, Decayed, Deathhammer, Hideous Divinity, Simbiose, Skeletal Remains, Adrift, Alcoholocaust, Ravensire, Névoa and Holocausto Em Chamas. There are twenty bands still left to be confirmed, all of them for the SWR Arena, a free-entry stage that will have gigs running throughout the entirety of the festival, so keep your eyes peeled for further announcements.
