This year has not been kind to metal festivals, but despite the ongoing unpredictability in regards to the future of live events, most festivals have decided to keep going and fight for a return in force during 2021 and Vagos Metal Fest is one such example. Now confirming a good part of its 2021 lineup, we can see the great efforts the festival has made to keep most of its original lineup afloat, while making some key differences between both – whether due to the unavailability of some bands or the interest of keeping things fresh. As it stands, the legendary black metallers Emperor and renowned thrash metalers Testament return to the lineup, with the symphonic black metal outfit Dimmu Borgir replacing Behemoth as the third headliner. Other returning names that will perform in next year’s edition include Asphyx, Trollfest, Kataklysm, Harakiri for the Sky and Unleash The Archers. The rest of the announcement includes Nekrogoblikon, Sotz, The Ominous Circle, Uburen, Arsea, Alekto, Lyfordeath, Apotropaico, Solar, Pitch Black, Lecks Inc and Veneno Califórnia, with more names to be announced in the coming months.
Vagos Metal Fest 2021 takes place at Quinta do Ega, in Vagos, on July 29th-31st. Daily and three-day tickets are available for 40 and 90 euros, respectively, and can be purchased online via the festival’s website.
