By now, it’s an established tradition that a new year starts off with a grind fiesta called Xapada Fest. After yet another well-received edition, the festival has finally announced the first names that will be a part of its 2025 lineup – and boy, are they great. At the head of the table, so to speak, we find the South African brutal slammers Vulvodynia, who have just recently released their fifth record, Entabeni, and are eager to return to Portugal after seven-long years, as well as the Spanish surgical goregrinders Haemorrhage and Dutch slamming giants Korpse. Also confirmed are the German brutal deathcore maestros Acranius, the Spanish grinders Nashgul and the Portuguese progressive death metal outfit Destroyers of All, as well as Meat Spreader, Pulmonary Fibrosis, Utopium – in a much-appreciated reunion -, Morto, Konad, Volière, Unhallowed Deliverance, Not Without Fighting, Rageful, Dekathexis and Vomitous Iniquity. A few more names will be revealed soon, so keep your eyes peeled for further announcements.
Xapada Fest takes place at RCA Club, in Lisbon, on January 24th-25th. Early bird two-day tickets are now available for 60 euros and can be purchased via the festival’s Big Cartel page.
