Roadburn just unveiled a few more names for its 2020 edition, including a couple more for both Emma Ruth Rundle and James Kent’s curation events and a few other surprises. As the lineup keeps getting hotter and hotter, the four-day tickets are also running lower and lower – less than 10% remain until they sell out! But fret not, the daily tickets will soon be arriving as well, more especifically on December 10th. Until then, enjoy the new confirmations for next year’s edition of Roadburn.
For her The Gilded Cage curation event, Emma Ruth Rundle has invited the one and only David Eugene Edwards (on the photo above) to perform a very special solo, acoustic show. Through his work via Wovenhand and 16 Horsepower, David has become a powerful storyteller via his music, an elegant mixture of americana, blues rock and more, which combines themes of faith, love and struggle with elements of traditional American storytelling. Those that have seen him perform with any of his bands know that David Eugene Edwards is a master of expressing emotion and transmitting his own passion for music to the crowd and in an acoustic and solo setting, you can expect no less than pure spiritual transformation and ascension. Counterbalancing this revelation are the various confirmations for James Kent’s own curation event – the French bludgeoning sludge force known as Regarde Les Hommes Tomber, who will be playing two sets during the event, one of which will be a collaboration with previously confirmed Hangman’s Chair; the also French avant-garde powerviolence distributors Plebeian Grandstand and Virginia’s own new age rock n’ rollers True Body.
Elsewhere during the week, Roadburn will host a showcase to celebrate the tenth annivesary of The Flenser, a San Francisco label dedicated to releasing experimental music, including that of Panopticon, Have A Nice Life and Bell Witch, among others. Performing at this showcase will be Giles Corey – featuring Dan Barrett of the aforementioned Have A Nice Life -, Elizabeth Colour Wheel, Drowse, Mamaleek and Midwife. Last but not least, we have the more general confirmations of Föllakzoid and Atom TM, who will be teaming up for a special set, as well as Primitive Man – performing two distinct sets -, Lankum, Hilary Woods, Torpor, PH, Sum Of R, Many Blessings and Eye Flys. A few names are still left to be revealed, so keep your eyes peeled for further announcements.
Roadburn 2020 takes place at 013, in Tilburg, on April 16th-19th. Three-day tickets are sold out and four-day tickets are still available for 210,50 euros and can be purchased online via Ticketmaster. As mentioned above, daily tickets will be available starting December 10th.
