Thirteen is the magic number, and in some cultures, it is also a lucky number. And how lucky are we that, for the second announcement of it’s 13th edition, SonicBlast has rained down upon us thirteen new bands that will leave everyone excited and craving for more. To the previously announced Circle Jerks, Amenra, Fu Manchu, Earthless and Emma Ruth Rundle, among others, the festival will host the North American doomgaze outfit King Woman, led by the extraordinary Kristina Esfandiari, in their absolute debut in Portugal, as well as the retturn of the Swedish doom metal lords Monolord and the British experimental post-punk quintet DITZ. Also confirmed are the North American fantasy-inspired, doom metal newcomers Castle Rat, the Italian doom metal band Messa, and the Irish electronic and noise rock trio Chalk, as well as Dead Ghosts, King Buffalo, The Atomic Bitchwax, Witchthroat Serpent, Vinnum Sabbathi, Tō Yō and Daily Thompson. More names will be unveiled soon, so keep your eyes peeled for further announcements.
SonicBlast 2025 takes place at the Praia da Duna do Caldeirão, in Âncora, from August 7th-9th, with a warm-up party on August 6th (for ticket holders only). Three-day tickets are available for 100 euros and can be purchased online via Bilheteira Online.
