By now, you are undoubtedly aware of Tool‘s impending return to Portugal. Untouchable and uncompromising, the Californian quartet led by the charismatic Maynard James Keenan has been constantly challenging the preconceptions of heavy music ever since their inception, which earned them a legendary status among their peers. Their live performances are often described as being the perfect marriage between audio and visual, which is not a strange notion considering the band’s dedication to the visual arts. Earlier this month – more specifically on the 2nd -, Tool returned to Europe for a fully-fledged, 15-date tour in which they have not only been playing classic songs like “Stinkfist”, “Schism” and “Vicarious”, but also presenting brand-new material from their upcoming record, the much anticipated follow-up to 2006s 10,000 Days, which has its release date set for August 30th.
Which again, brings us to the beginning of this article – the band’s impending return to Portugal. Taking place at a completely sold-out Altice Arena, in Lisbon, on July 2nd, this will be the band’s final date of this European tour and you better brace yourselves for an incredible showcase of progressive music, blended in with some of the most visually appealing light shows out there. It’s safe to assume that this is the most anticipated event of the year and considering that the band hasn’t set foot in Portugal in over 13 years, we are upholding that sentiment. It’s going to be a blast. So, the question remains: are you fucking ready for Tool’s return to Portugal? Because we sure are.
