Spring is not only the time where the Sun starts showing its face in full force, but also when most festival start pouring more bands into their lineups. And SonicBlast is no different. After an impressive announcement that included the likes of Turbonegro, Chat Pile, Deafheaven, Kylesa and Snapped Ankles, just to name a few from a total of twenty-two, the festival gives us eight more reasons why we cannot miss this year’s edition. At the forefront of the announcement we have the Canadian standard-bearers of progressive metal Voivod (on the photo above), as well as the North American hardcore mainstays Trash Talk and their fellow countrymen and hardcore newcomers Teen Mortgage. Also confirmed are the Greek stoner metal habitués 1000mods, the Argentinian stoner/doom metal power trio Mephistofeles, the British stoner rockers Elephant Tree, the returning North American heavy psych rockers Deathchant, and the Portuguese heavy psych group Madmess. More names will be unveiled soon, so keep your eyes peeled for further announcements.
SonicBlast 2026 takes place at the Praia da Duna do Caldeirão, in Âncora, from August 6th-8th, with a warm-up party on August 5th (for ticket holders only). Three-day tickets are available for 100 euros and can be purchased online via Bilheteira Online.
